Job Description - Supply Chain Director
Position Overview
The Supply Chain Director is responsible for leading the end-to-end supply chain operations, including planning, procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain optimization. This role ensures operational excellence, cost efficiency, and supply continuity while supporting business growth and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience managing complex, multi-region supply chain networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
Develop and execute the overall supply chain strategy aligned with business objectives and growth plans.
Lead end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, agility, and resilience across all functions.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service levels, reduce costs, and optimize processes.
Build and maintain a high-performing supply chain organization with clear KPIs and accountability.
2. Demand, Supply & Inventory Planning
Oversee demand forecasting, supply planning, and S&OP/IBP processes to ensure alignment between commercial, operations, and finance teams.
Optimize inventory levels to balance service, cost, and working capital targets.
Monitor planning accuracy and implement corrective actions to improve forecast reliability.
3. Procurement & Supplier Management
Lead strategic sourcing activities, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management.
Develop a resilient and diversified supply base to mitigate risks and support business expansion.
Drive cost-saving initiatives, value engineering, and supplier innovation programs.
4. Logistics & Distribution Management
Oversee transportation, warehousing, distribution, and 3PL/4PL operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Optimize logistics networks, routing, and warehouse footprint to improve service and reduce cost.
Ensure compliance with global trade regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
5. Operational Excellence & Digital Transformation
Implement supply chain digitalization initiatives, including automation, visibility tools, and advanced analytics.
Lead process standardization and best-practice deployment across regions and business units.
Drive KPI management, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Commercial, Manufacturing, R&D, Finance, and Quality teams to support new product launches, market expansion, and operational priorities.
Ensure seamless coordination between supply chain and production to meet customer demand and service targets.
Support major transformation projects and strategic business initiatives.
7. Risk Management & Compliance
Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure business continuity.
Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, ESG standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
Lead crisis management and contingency planning for supply disruptions.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
10-15+ years of progressive supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong expertise in planning, procurement, logistics, and inventory management.
Proven experience managing multi-region or multi-site supply chain operations.
Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation and operational excellence initiatives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
Ability to travel as required.
