As part of a national growth phase, we are appointing five Business Development Managers to expand and strengthen client relationships across key Australian markets.
The Opportunity
This is a pure business development role focused on originating and developing new client relationships nationally, across commercial real estate, property, development and construction sectors.
You will work closely with senior recruitment consultants and leadership to identify opportunities, open doors with new clients, and position Gough as a trusted long-term recruitment partner. The role suits an experienced BDM from the property or real estate sector who understands consultative selling, stakeholder management, and value-based conversations.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively originate new client relationships across property, real estate, development and construction markets
- Develop and execute a structured national BD strategy aligned to Gough's growth objectives
- Build senior-level relationships with decision-makers including founders, directors, investment leaders and heads of function
- Lead initial client conversations, capability discussions and engagement scoping
- Work collaboratively with recruitment consultants to transition opportunities into live assignments
- Represent Gough professionally at industry events, networking forums and client meetings
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide clear reporting on BD activity and pipeline
About You
- Experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Executive or similar role within real estate, property, development, construction or a related professional services environment
- Strong understanding of consultative, relationship-led sales rather than transactional selling
- Confident engaging senior stakeholders and articulating value at a commercial level
- Highly organised, self-directed and motivated by long-term relationship building
- Comfortable working nationally with cross-office collaboration
- Strong communication skills and professional presence
*Recruitment experience is not essential. Industry credibility and sales capability are.
