Description
You will work with a team of controllers in the EMEA Equities Product control space to accurately report daily P&L and over the month end close along with daily risk reporting . EMEA Equities Product control team broadly covers Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) regions. This will involve working with multiple stakeholders to support the delivery of key objectives for the department.As an Associate in the EMEA Equities Product Control team you will be expected to work with your team to accurately report P&L & risk daily and the month end close for P&L . The role requires good financial acumen and attention to detail. There will be plenty of opportunities to work in conjunction with Front Office, Middle Office, Financial Control, Market Risk and VCG throughout to resolve issues and improve overall knowledge .
Job Responsibilities
- Responsibility of production, preparation and reporting of the Daily P&L and Risk and ensuring it is completed in an efficient and controlled manner
- Partnering with the wider business to drive forth and implement robust controls and implement strategic initiatives
- Providing detailed analysis and commentary on the financials to desk heads, business managers, and senior finance management
- Coordinating various front & back office support functions to ensure resolution of control and reporting issues in an accurate and timely manner
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvements and ensuring processes adapt to meet changing systems and evolving requirements
- Contributing in key projects and initiatives related to all the above, as well as larger cross-business programs
- Work experience within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
- Previous P&L or risk experience is preferable
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft excel.
- Educated to at least Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) level
- Understanding of Equities and financial Derivatives and an understanding of associated products including accompanying risks
- Demonstrate ability to research/investigate and explain financial issues in concise manner
- Time management skills with ability to work with deadlines and flexibility to adjust according to team's work requirements
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Work experience within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
