As a Financial Adviser specialising in drawdown advice, you will provide restricted, regulated advice to clients considering or taking withdrawals from their pensions. Based in our Canary Wharf office, you will engage with clients remotely via telephone and Zoom, ensuring they receive clear, compliant, and technically robust guidance tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, restricted financial advice to clients on pension drawdown and withdrawal strategies.
- Conduct thorough fact-finding and needs analysis to understand each client's circumstances, objectives, and risk profile.
- Explain complex pension and drawdown concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner.
- Prepare and present recommendations, ensuring all advice is compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records and documentation.
- Liaise with paraplanners, compliance, and support teams as needed.
- Keep up to date with relevant legislation, market developments, and best practices in retirement planning.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and client-centric service.
Required qualifications, skills and capabilities
- Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (or equivalent).
- Strong technical knowledge of pensions, retirement income options, and drawdown strategies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust remotely.
- High attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of an office-based team.
- Strong IT skills and experience using digital communication tools (e.g., Zoom, CRM systems).
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in a client-facing advice role, or as a paraplanner/trainee adviser with exposure to retirement planning.
- Understanding of the FCA's rules on restricted advice.
- Desire to develop and progress within a leading financial institution.
