About the team:
In Consumer Digital Transformation, our objective is to provide world-class consumer experiences that drive brand & business growth in an efficient and sustainable way. We do this via 5 'engines' focused on driving consistent capability, technology and operating models to deliver this transformation across marketing fields (Scaled Reach, Content, Digital Commerce, Marketing Effectiveness and Data) supporting markets and brands to deliver their shape of A&P. These engines are enabled by a transversal MarTech Transformation Office, to scale these kinds of outcomes in repeatable way.
About the Role
The Global Media Operations Lead plays a pivotal role in operationalising Diageo's $1bn+ media investment. Reporting to the Global Head of Media Operations, this role ensures consistent governance, effectiveness, and capability across our global media ecosystem driving excellence in AdTech adoption, media performance, and data-led decision-making.
The role bridges strategy and delivery, ensuring our markets, agencies, and technology partners are equipped to execute media operations with precision and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Drive day-to-day global media operations across paid, retail, social, and earned channels ensuring adherence to the Diageo Marketing Code, TMP, and Brand Safety Framework.
- AdTech Enablement: Drive global adoption of key capability and other scalable ad-tech solutions, proving out pilots and supporting markets to scale pilots
- Performance & Measurement: Leads on reporting requirements, translating taxonomy and data into actionable insights. Ensures media reporting powers business intelligence, with responsibility for savings tracking, investment governance, and visibility of media sufficiency benchmarks across markets.
- Partner & Vendor Management: Manage global partner relationships ensuring readiness for rollouts and aligned messaging and owns ongoing innovation roadmap.
- Governance & Compliance: Act as subject matter expert on Brand Safety, Ad Fraud, and media compliance issues.
- Capability Building: Develop and maintain operational toolkits, training materials, and best practice communications to upskill regional and market teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Connect media operations with data, procurement, and legal to ensure efficiency, transparency, and regulatory alignment.
Leadership Capabilities
- Collaborative leader, able to navigate cross-functional and cross-market stakeholders with influence and credibility.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects, vendors, and partners simultaneously.
- Confident communicator with the ability to distil complex data and processes into simple, actionable insights.
- Proactive mindset and capable of identifying opportunities for automation, optimisation, and simplification.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years' experience in media operations, media planning, or digital transformation, ideally within a global organisation.
- Deep understanding of media performance measurement, AdTech, and Brand Safety solutions.
- Experience working with global agency networks and/or media technology vendors.
- Proven success in operationalising technology-led efficiency programs.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business, or Data Analytics.
