The role
Start the new year with a new career in the defence industry by joining this brilliant team as their Industrial Relations Specialist.
This newly created role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment while reporting directly to the Industrial Relations Manager. You will play a key role in shaping and strengthening their approach to industrial relations, ensuring consistency, compliance, and effective stakeholder engagement across the business.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing frameworks and reporting structures that support the consistent management of industrial relations matters. You will provide expert verbal and written advice on complex issues, conduct investigations into grievances, disputes, misconduct, and workplace concerns, and prepare and manage submissions to the Fair Work Commission, advocating in hearings when required.
You will also support the development and implementation of enterprise agreement bargaining strategies that align with business objectives, while building and maintaining strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and union representatives. Ensuring governance and compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures will be central to your success in this role.To be successful, you will hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, with industrial relations-specific qualifications or experience highly regarded. You will bring proven experience in negotiating enterprise agreements and managing disputes, along with a strong understanding of industrial instruments, including the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards. Your ability to build effective relationships with unions and internal stakeholders will be matched by your skills in managing investigations, disciplinary processes, and performance management matters. Experience advocating before the Fair Work Commission or similar bodies will further demonstrate your capability.This is a career-defining opportunity to contribute to a sector that plays a vital role in national security and innovation. This position is to commence in the New Year and is subject to undergoing a Defence Clearance. Salary ranges from $130k - $170k base + super + bonus.
