Description

Morgan McKinley are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer/Assistant to support an Academy Trust in South London. This is a critical role ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial operations of the school, beginning as a temporary contract with the intent to transition into a permanent position.

This role is paying £20 - £22 ph DOE and will be fully on site.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Compliance: Must hold an enhanced DBS check.
• Technical Proficiency: A solid understanding of core accounting principles is non-negotiable. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of:
  • Trial Balances
  • Accrued Income & Expenses
  • Deferred Income
• Systems: Experience with IRIS Financials is preferred. However candidates with strong experience in any finance system, provided they have the aptitude to learn new software quickly.

Core Responsibilities

• Supporting the Head of Finance with monthly reporting and year-end preparations.
• Managing journals, prepayments, and accruals.
• Assisting with the maintenance of the school's trial balance.
• General ledger maintenance and ensuring all income is correctly deferred or accrued according to the academic year.
