Junior Fundamental L/S Investment Analyst

Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Generate well-supported long and short equity investment recommendations through detailed financial modeling and proprietary research.
• Apply a creative and commercial mindset to deliver excellence throughout the investment process.
• Utilize AI and emerging technologies to enhance research, analysis, and decision-making.
• Monitor portfolio holdings actively and provide timely updates.
• Develop a deep understanding of macroeconomic trends, thematic drivers, and company-specific factors influencing portfolio returns.
• Gain exposure to long/short portfolio management principles, including risk sources and optimal portfolio construction.
• Participate in quarterly earnings calls and track relevant news events, updating models as needed.
• Attend industry conferences and management meetings; build relationships with sell-side analysts and research associates.
• Conduct comprehensive bottom-up financial analysis of companies, business models, and industry metrics.
• Evaluate new coverage opportunities and identify key industry trends.

Candidate Profile

• 1-3 years of experience in Investment Banking, Equity Research, Private Equity, Long-only investing, or related fields.
• Strong academic background from a top-tier university.
• Demonstrated passion for financial markets and company analysis.
• Ability to rotate across teams, sectors, and geographies.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and familiarity with emerging technologies in investment research.
