Description
The roleAs a Lead Technical Project Manager Warehouse Automation Software, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, engineering, implementation and enhancements of our Warehouse Control System (WCS) for the automation technology in our fulfillment centers. You bring a strong sense of ownership, structured problem-solving and resilience when facing fast-changing operational environments.

What you'll do
- Drive innovation in the pick and pack process of our logistics systems, challenging the status quo, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency, reliability, and scalability, and translating ideas into reality.
- Drive decisions with senior stakeholders by supporting concepts and proposals with data that demonstrates business impact and thoroughly assesses risks.
- Be the central interface of the automation software workstream for internal stakeholders such as planning, operations, Tech, as well as external suppliers.
- Dive deep into the process and tools powering our business as well as its interfaces on frontend and backend.
- Drive the design and specification of the delivery of WCS and Material Flow Control Systems as an integrative part of our system landscape
- Lead cross-functional technical discussions and foster alignment between engineering, suppliers, and operations.
- Manage external WCS development, oversee software QA in staging and on-site, and coordinate commissioning of supplier solutions both remotely and on-site, ensuring precise delivery of all agreed services.
- Apply project management best practices, tools and techniques to ensure the highest quality of documentation, communication and risk management.
- Completed studies in systems engineering, automation, logistics, information technology or another suitable field of study
- At least 5 years professional experience in Software Project Management as a Product Owner, Product Manager or other relevant role
- Experience in driving supplier software delivery, QA, commissioning, and anticipating system behaviour under real-time load. Backed up by a proven track record in end-to-end warehouse software projects, with expertise in automation systems and intralogistics.
- You excel at identifying and managing cross-team dependencies across operations, planning, product, and external integrators
- Strong problem solving and data analysis (SQL) skills, solid understanding of integration technologies (REST, Kafka, ActiveMQ, etc) and basic programming skills (Python)
- Experience in using GenAI tools to accelerate documentation, requirements refinement, test analysis and system investigations.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken) are required, any other additional language skills is a plus.
Willingness to travel within Europe, UK and Overseas and work in high-pressure commissioning phases, making clear decisions on-site together with engineers and suppliers (up to 30% of your working time, depending on the project phase).
