A leading global asset management firm is seeking a high caliber Portfolio Manager to spearhead its suite of passive fixed income strategies. This individual will serve as the primary architect for the firm's passive mandates, ensuring institutional-grade execution and precision in benchmark alignment.

Key Portfolio Management Responsibilities

• Strategic Portfolio Oversight: Take full accountability for the construction, management, and optimization of a diverse suite of passive fixed income portfolios. The incumbent will ensure that all mandates strictly adhere to client objectives and specific benchmark parameters.
• Precision Index Replication: Lead the implementation of complex replication tools and techniques. The role requires a hands-on approach to bond sampling and optimization to ensure that tracking error is meticulously controlled and remains within tightly defined limits during portfolio rebalancing.
• Advanced Risk & Liquidity Management: Conduct rigorous assessments of portfolio risk, specifically focusing on duration, credit quality, and yield curve positioning. Given the nuances of the Asian and Singaporean fixed income markets, the incumbent must navigate market depth and bond liquidity challenges to ensure efficient execution and minimal slippage.
• Quantitative Analysis: Utilize sophisticated risk management systems to monitor portfolio analytics. The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for identifying and mitigating potential deviations from the benchmark caused by corporate actions, primary market activity, or liquidity constraints.
• Product Innovation & Strategy: Partner with Product Development teams to identify market gaps and spearhead the launch of new passive fixed income products. The incumbent will act as the technical lead and champion for these initiatives from inception to market.
• Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Act as a senior technical resource, training and nurturing junior team members to build a robust pipeline of backup Portfolio Managers with deep expertise in passive strategies.

Client & Strategic Support

• Performance Attribution: Translate complex portfolio data into clear, actionable insights for clients. The incumbent will lead discussions on performance attribution, market dynamics, and portfolio positioning.
• Thought Leadership: Collaborate with business development teams to produce compelling product messages, market commentaries, and creative thought leadership pieces that enhance the firm's reputation in the fixed income space.

Experience & Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in managing passive fixed income strategies with a demonstrable track record of superior tracking error control.
• Deep institutional knowledge of Asian and Singaporean fixed income benchmarks and the underlying market infrastructure.
• Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or an equivalent professional qualification is required.
• Proven ability to command "gravitas" in front of sophisticated global and regional clients, articulating complex investment strategies with clarity.
