Join the EIRE Systems team of IT Infrastructure Project Managers, Technical Coordinators and Design Engineers to deliver a variety of medium and large-scale IT infrastructure projects including new data center construction, office design & builds, re-locations, migrations, and network expansion/consolidation projects.EIRE Systems partners with a leading global data center hyperscaler that is expanding its operations in Kansai to meet growing demand in Japan.
As a Project Manager for Data Center Fiber Infrastructure, you will be part of the project team working within a live data center construction environment. You will oversee and coordinate fiber cabling and rack installation activities for an Osaka Data Center development project. The primary objective of this role will be the end-to-end coordination and oversight of cabling vendor's fiber cabling activities, ensuring smooth collaboration with the General Contractor (GC) and other stakeholders.
This role is hands-on requiring regular site visits to the Datacenter in Osaka (as, and when required)
Language Requirements
• Japanese: Business Level - For coordination with local contractors and stakeholders
• English: Business level preferred
Role & Responsibilities:
Project Coordination:
• Function as the primary point of contact between cabling vendors and the
construction company
• Ensure alignment of schedules, deliverables, and site activities
• Coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to avoid delays or conflicts
Site Management & Oversight:
• Oversee the cabling vendor's onsite fiber installation work
• Ensure that containment systems (trays, pathways etc.) are prepared for
installation, in line with the project schedule
• Monitor progress and ensure work is completed to required standards
Technical Support & Communication:
• Respond to and manage technical and operational queries from vendor engineers
• Facilitate issue resolution in a timely manner
• Escalate risks or delays where necessary
Meetings & Reporting:
• Attend and contribute to site meetings
• Conduct site walk-abouts and inspections
• Provide updates on progress, risks, and milestones
Commissioning & Quality Assurance:
• Oversee cable and device testing and commissioning activities
• Participate in site inspections and acceptance processes
• Ensure compliance with project specifications (client's requirements) and quality
standards
Requirements:
• A track-record of success managing data cabling & technology infrastructure
projects
• Organized, methodical Project Management skills, including scheduling,
resourcing and vendor management, proposal justification as well as cost analysis
and budget tracking.
• Technical knowledge of cabling infrastructure design and construction standards
and experience working in the data cabling or IT facilities industry.
• Basic ability to read and understand architectural and electrical drawings.
• Project Management certification advantageous e.g., PMP, Prince 2
