About Our Client

Our client is a globally recognised, leading global payments fintech company that provides seamless cross-border payments and transactions. They are currently looking for an experienced Regional Controller (APAC) to oversee the end to end financial reporting, financial operations and controllership function based in Singapore. This is a people management role, with responsibility managing a regional team.

Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting, this Singapore-based role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records in compliance with relevant accounting standards (local GAAP and IFRS).

You will play a key role in supporting global finance operations, strengthening internal controls, driving financial reporting, and improving processes in a fast-paced and evolving fintech environment.

Financial Operations

• Ensure compliance with external regulations, statutory requirements, and internal policies
• Partner closely with Accounting Operations (AP, AR, invoicing, product accounting, expense management)
• Implement and maintain strong internal controls

Compliance, Reporting & Audit

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors
• Prepare financial statements and oversee the audit process
• Ensure timely completion of audit requirements and implementation of recommendations
• Partner with Legal and Regulatory teams to meet compliance obligations
• Ensure accurate and timely statutory and regulatory reporting

Financial Reporting

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Perform account reconciliations and flux analysis
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for both local and group reporting
• Deliver accurate financial insights to management and stakeholders
• Conduct variance analysis to support strategic decisions

Team Collaboration

• Work cross-functionally to gather financial data and provide actionable insights
• Collaborate with FP&A and business stakeholders to achieve financial objectives

The Successful Applicant

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Master's or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CFA is a plus)
• Proven experience in accounting, audit, and finance, including at least 5 years in a similar role
• Prior experience in a Big 4 firm is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS and/or US GAAP)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
