Description
A Top Tier Hedge Fund Hong Kong office is hiring a Senior Developer / Developer to join our technology team supporting Middle and Back Office operations in a global trading environment across 15+ international exchanges.This is a hands-on Python development role focused on building and maintaining trade reconciliation, risk reporting, and post-trade operational systems. You will work closely with operations, risk, and finance teams to deliver stable, scalable, and automated solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain systems for Middle- and Back-Office operations, risk management, and finance workflows
- Maintain and enhance applications to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Support daily reconciliation, settlement workflows and risk reporting.
- Conduct UAT testing, ensure system stability, and resolve production issues efficiently.
- Continuously improve system performance, maintainability, and data integrity.
- Identify and implement AI-driven and data-centric innovations to increase automation and scalability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience in a hedge fund, investment bank, or fintech environment.
- Strong Python proficiency with experience in Django, Celery, Flask, Pandas, and NumPy.
- Experience in frontend development with ReactJS, VueJS
- Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
- Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and software architecture.
- Database expertise in PostgreSQL: data modelling, performance optimization, and monitoring.
- Familiarity with Docker, Linux environments, and modern software architecture practices.
- Exposure to AI technologies, cloud platforms (Azure), and DevOps tools (Jenkins, CI/CD) is advantageous.
- Understanding of financial products and OTC derivatives (cash equity, swap, futures, options, bond, FX) a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with a can-do attitude and an openness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
