Job Title:Technical/Functional Business Analyst - Funds
Location: London (2/3 days on-site per week)
Salary/Rate: £600 - 700 per day outside IR35
Start Date: June
Job Type: Initial contract until 31/12/2026

Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading consultancy clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Hybrid Business Analyst (Functional/Technical) with deep exposure to the investment funds domain.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives
This role requires a highly business-aligned individual who can bridge the gap between stakeholders and technical teams, with a strong grasp of fund structures, lifecycles, and associated processes.

• Engage with business stakeholders to elicit, analyse, and document requirements (both functional and technical)
• Translate business needs into clear, structured specifications for delivery teams
• Produce high-quality documentation, including:
• o Business requirements documents (BRDs)
• o Functional specifications
• o User stories and acceptance criteria
• Create process maps, swimlane diagrams, and wireframes to support solution design and communication
• Work closely with developers, architects, and product teams to ensure requirements are well understood and delivered accurately
• Support end-to-end delivery lifecycle, from discovery through to implementation and testing
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical solutions

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

Core Business Analysis Skills

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst in a hybrid functional/technical capacity
• Strong ability to gather, structure, and articulate requirements
• Experience producing swimlane diagrams, wireframes, and process flows
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to operate effectively in cross-functional teams

Funds Domain Expertise (Essential)
Strong understanding of investment funds and asset classes, including:

• Fixed Income
• Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs)
• Equities
• Money Markets
• Private Assets
• Tokenisation of assets

Knowledge of:

• Fund lifecycles (launch, operation, distribution, and closure)
• Client and trade workflows across the investment lifecycle

Fund Structures & Vehicles
Familiarity with fund structures, including:

• SICAV (Societe d?Investissement a Capital Variable - Investment Company with Variable Capital)
• ICVC (Investment Company with Variable Capital)
• SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle)
• SCSp / SPCS (Special Limited Partnership - Societe en Commandite Speciale)

Understanding of umbrella fund structures is highly desirable.
Domiciles (Desirable, Not Essential)
Exposure to fund domiciles such as:

• Cayman Islands
• Luxembourg
• Ireland

Technical / Delivery Environment

• Experience working in Agile and/or hybrid delivery environments
• Ability to collaborate with engineering teams on technical requirements and solution design
• Comfortable working with data flows, integrations, and system processes
