We are seeking a future 2LOD Testing Officer for the role of Vice President to join our Compliance Testingteam within 2LOD Risk and Compliance (R&C) - Independent Review and Assurance Group. This role is based out of Pune.
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways :
The Vice President, Testing - Engineering & Information Security will lead and execute independent control evaluation across BNY's engineering organization and information-security programs.
- Lead compliance testing of software development lifecycles, DevOps pipelines, cloud architectures and change-management controls
- Evaluate core information-security and cyber-security controls like vulnerability management, access controls, incident response, encryption and network security against applicable laws, regulations and BNY policies.
- Design, implement, and oversee AI risk and compliance testing framework evaluating data governance, algorithmic fairness, transparency and resilience of all AI/ML solutions
- Manage end-to-end testing engagements in line with the Global Methodology Standard and Annual Testing Plan, managing all phases of each review from scoping, planning through execution, reporting and remediation tracking - with minimal oversight.
- Communicate findings and risk ratings clearly to senior engineering, security and risk stakeholders, and partner with them to drive corrective actions that sustain regulatory and corporate compliance across the enterprise
- Designing and automating test scripts for testing/assurance (beyond current day job, and using existing skills)
- Conduct quality assurance reviews for your peers / other testers in line with the Global Methodology Standard.
- Use MS Office and BNY's proprietary AI tools for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
- Recording of all testing activities in Risk and Compliance Testing system.
- Escalate issues promptly and propose remediation solutions.
- Manage multiple priorities, take ownership of tasks, and ensure accuracy and timely completion.
- Collaborate actively within the team, build strong stakeholder relationships across three lines of defense, and represent testing team in internal and client meetings.
- Participate in team and departmental projects.
- Ensure compliance with all BNY corporate policies and training requirements.
- Champion the use of BNY's proprietary AI tools to improve testing accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Confidently leverage BNY's proprietary AI tools to streamline compliance tasks, improve documentation accuracy, accelerate reporting, and control assessments, draft risk narratives, identify control gaps, and streamline stakeholder communications.
- Will report to Head of India R&C Assurance & Testing and will closely work with Global & Regional R&C Assurance and Testing Leads, Business Compliance Officers and various senior stakeholders at BNY's Engineering Practice
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Education: Preferred secondary/university graduate degree in Business, Compliance, Technology, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CISA, CISM, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, CRISC, CISSP, CISI, IMC, CFA, IAPP certifications) are advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of financial industry experience, preferably with at least 3-5 years in Information Security Audit or a Control role ideally gained at a large bank, financial institution, public accounting firm, or regulatory body. Familiarity with other Risk and Compliance frameworks / domains, compliance testing, control testing, and/or internal audit would be an added advantage.
- Building AI solutions and automating control testing preferred.
- Proven track record of managing compliance testing or audit processes independently and under tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify, collate, and distill relevant information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills stakeholder management and leadership presence
- Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and proactively manage challenges.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the Three Lines of Defense.
- Sound risk awareness and ability to apply outcome-focused regulation while understanding commercial pressures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines.
- Ability to train and mentor junior team members on compliance testing methodologies and systems.
- Aptitude for problem-solving, critical thinking, and developing practical solutions.
