The Role

VP, Direct Investment Manager, Private Equity

Key Accountabilities

A key role in the launch of upcoming investment advisory business and team management, while collaborating with the team on deal monitoring and implementation of exit strategies of our investment portfolio.

• Development of New Investment Advisory Business
  • Key driver in establishing and executing the new investment advisory service business;
  • Develop and secure investment advisory mandates from clients (including but not limited to portfolio advisory, deal screening, due diligence, post-investment management);
  • Construct and refine investment advisory business model, processes, and delivery standards of investment advisory services.
• Investment Portfolio Management
  • Collaborate with the team in post-investment management of existing portfolio investments;
  • Assist in investment monitoring, value creation, and planning and implementation of exit;
  • strategies, to ensure capital preservation and appreciation.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship
  • Provide leadership, coordination, and mentorship to junior professionals;
  • Be responsible for guidance, training, and performance improvement to build a high-performing, professional investment team.

Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or above from international or China top-tier university. Major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, or a relevant STEM field is preferred;
• Holders of professional certifications such as CFA, CPA, or FRM is preferred;
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience at reputable Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Bank, top-tier strategy consultancy, or large technology corporate strategy/corporate finance department;
• Candidates with over 2 years of full time working experience in Hong Kong or overseas is considered as an advantage;
• Must possess demonstrable, end-to-end project management experience. Proven track record of leading or playing a core role in full investment lifecycle from deal sourcing, due diligence, and transaction execution to post-investment management and exit;
• Established industry network: Possess extensive business network of deal sources and industry experts within 1-2 key sectors (e.g., Technology, Healthcare, Consumer, Advanced Manufacturing, (Infrastructure) to immediately add value to the investment advisory business;
• Prior experience in investment advisory, consulting services, or providing investment recommendations to fund managers is preferred;
• Ability to build, review, and guide others in creating complex financial models and valuation analyses;
• Proficiency in conducting in-depth industry research, company analysis, and building competitive landscape to form independent investment theses;
• Ability to manage multiple projects and advisory mandates simultaneously, ensuring delivery of quality services;
• Expertise in deal structuring, risk assessment, negotiation, and reviewing legal documentation;
• Ability to motivate team members and build trust with internal and external clients;
• Proactive and driven in new business development, with a strong client-service mindset;
• Able to identify core issues in complex situations and provide possible solutions;
• Capable of working under pressure and thriving in fast-paced environment.
