About Your Company

King Deux is partnering with a leading venture capital, the team manages multiple funds across listed equities, venture investments, and strategic holdings. This role owns the financial integrity of those funds and the firm itself: the books, the reconciliations, the fund economics, the audit through to sign-off, and the firm's internal accounting. You work directly with our third-party auditor and fund administrator, and you use AI tools to move faster on data analysis and reconciliation.

You will join a lean firm and this is a hands-on operator role. You will carry out these duties yourself as an individual contributor. Apply only if you are comfortable owning the work directly, not delegating it.

About your role

1. Own each fund's financial position: capital calls, subscriptions, redemptions, fees, and expenses, accurate and current at all times.
2. Reconcile cash and positions across banks, custodians, brokers, and the fund administrator; identify breaks and drive them to resolution.
3. Calculate and verify management fees, performance fees, and fund economics against each fund's PPM, side letters, and subscription agreements.
4. Manage liquidity, cash forecasting, and capital activity across multiple entities.
5. Own the annual audit end-to-end: timelines, schedules, information requests, and accounting-treatment queries, working directly with the external audit firm to sign-off.
6. Manage and oversee the firm's internal accounting: management company books, operating expenses, payroll logging, vendor payments, and intercompany flows.
7. Manage the fund administrator and other service providers to ensure data accuracy and continuity.
8. Produce the verified figures behind NAV and capital account reporting for the IR function.

What you will need to succeed

1. 5 or more years in fund operations, fund accounting, or controllership within a venture, hedge fund, PE, or alternative investment environment.
2. Comfortable operating as a hands-on individual contributor in a lean firm, owning the work end-to-end without support staff to delegate to.
3. Strong command of how capital moves through a fund and reconciles across entities and against fund documents.
4. Able to manage auditors and administrators directly and hold them accountable.
5. Fluent using AI tools for data analysis and reconciliation.
6. Exceptional attention to detail across counterparties, accounts, and periods.
7. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently.
8. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
9. Native or full professional fluency in English.
10. Proficient in email, Zoom, Microsoft PowerPoint / Google Slides, Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets, and Microsoft Word / Google Docs.
