Your new role
As Head of Financial Crime Compliance, MLRO and Section 72B Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Bank's Financial Crime Compliance function and ensuring compliance with all applicable AML/CFT, sanctions, anti-bribery and fraud-related regulatory requirements.
- Act as the Bank's designated Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and Section 72B Manager.
- Develop, implement and maintain the Bank's AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime compliance framework.
- Provide strategic leadership on financial crime risk management, governance and regulatory compliance matters.
- Engage with regulators and oversee regulatory examinations, reviews and remediation programmes.
- Prepare and present financial crime risk matters to senior management and Board Committees.
- Oversee suspicious transaction reporting, sanctions compliance, transaction monitoring and customer risk management frameworks.
- Ensure policies, procedures and controls remain aligned with evolving regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Lead and develop a high-performing FCC team while fostering a strong compliance culture across the Bank.
- Partner closely with business, operations, risk, legal and audit stakeholders on financial crime governance initiatives.
- Drive ongoing FCC transformation projects, system enhancements and control effectiveness reviews.
What you'll need to succeed
- Degree holder in Law, Finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Extensive Financial Crime Compliance and AML/CFT experience gained within banking institutions.
- Proven experience acting as MLRO and/or leading an FCC function within a regulated banking environment.
- Strong knowledge of HKMA AML/CFT requirements, sanctions regulations, financial crime risk management and regulatory expectations.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with regulators and managing regulatory inspections.
- Track record of leading teams and influencing stakeholders at senior management and Board level.
- Professional qualifications such as ACAMS, ICA, CFA, FRM or equivalent will be advantageous.
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English and Chinese communication capabilities preferred.
